Development of an Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode Controller of an Electrohydraulic Actuator Based on a Virtual Prototyping

The EHA (electro hydraulic actuator) has a notable advantage over conventional actuators as it uses closed-loop circuit, reducing the size and volume of oil, eliminates pressure losses caused by valve orifices. However, accurate control performance is difficult to achieve using traditional PID (proportional integral derivative) controller due strongly nonlinear, time-varying, unknown dynamics system. Hence this paper seeks address problem proposing design an intelligent for EHA. proposed adaptive fuzzy sliding mode (AFSMC) developed hybrid adaptive, logic, algorithms. To reduce costs time, virtual prototype approach also instead experimentations evaluate controller. model built in Amesime software, then embedded into Matlab/Simulink where AFSMC tested obtain position responses results show that highly successful more efficient than at controlling piston accurately.
